very four days和 every fourth day用法讲解

　　一、表达方法：
　　1. “every+基数词(大于或等于2)+复数名词” 意思是“每……”。
　　例如： The old man went to hospital every five days. 那老汉每五天/每隔四天就去看一次病.
　　There are buses to the station every ten minutes.每十分钟/每隔九分钟就有公共汽车去火车站.
　　We hand in our homework every three days. 我们每三天/每隔两天交一次作业。
　　2. “every+序数词(大于或等于2)+单数名词”意思是“每第……”。
　　例如： The Olympic Games are held every fourth year. 奥林匹克运动会每四年/每隔三年举办一次。
　　He comes to see his uncle every third week.他每三周/每隔两周来看望他的叔叔。
　　3. “every other +基数词(大于或等于2) +复数名词” 意思是“每隔……”。
　　例如： I have to work out every other two days. 我每隔两天就要作一次运动。
　　I had to sit down and rest every other four minutes. 我每隔4分钟就得坐下休息。
　　4. “every other +零基数词(等于1)+单数名词” 意思是“每隔一……”。
　　例如： Take this medicine every other day. 这药每两天/每隔一天服一次。
　　Please write down these new words on every other line. 请把这些生词隔行写下来。
　　5.“every few +复数名词” 意思是“每隔几……” 。
　　例如： He came to see me every few days. 他每隔几天来看我一次。
　　He stopped and turned around every few meters. 他每走几步就停下来向四周看一看。
 
　　二、译法：
　　1. 从上面的例句中可以看出，在“every+基数词(大于或等于2)+复数名词; every+序数词(大于或等于2)+单数名词”中，在表示空间一点和时间时，every 既可译成“每……”，也可译成“每隔……”。译成“每隔……”时，汉语和英语不同，要在英语所给数字中减去一，即(n-1)，但表示距离时，译成“每……”或“每隔……”，在意义上差别不大，英汉互译在数字上则是一致的。
　　例如： The doctor told him to take the medicine every four hours/every fourth hour. 医生让他每四个小时/每隔三小时吃一次药。
　　I write to him every two weeks/every second week. 我每两周/每隔一周给他写一封信。 There's a post box every 500 metres. 每/每隔500米就有一个邮箱.
　　We were asked to plant a tree every twenty meters on both sides of the road. 要求我们在马路两旁每隔/每20米栽一棵树。
　　Change the oil in the car every 5,000 miles. 每行5000里给汽车换一次油。
　　2. 当every所修饰的数字大到一定程度时，译成“每……”或“每隔……”，意义上差别不大。例如： The doctor visits his mother every hundred days. 这位医生每/每隔一百天去看望他母亲一次。
 
　　三、转换：
　　He goes to town every two days/every second/other day. 他每两天/每隔一天进城一次。 Mary goes to see her grandparents every three days/every third day/every other two days. 玛丽每三天/每隔两天去看望她祖父母一次。
 
　　四、注意事项：
　　every和each虽为同义词，但在表达“每隔……”时，不能用each来替代every。
